FUMING.
We were here first... |
We eventually made it up at about 11:15 to less snow than expected (although I count this as lucky because I would've been even angrier). With hopes of a good day at an all time low we dropped into far skier's right of Lavencher. It was really good, surprisingly so. All the snow had collected in the bowls and gullies. Two glorious laps - occasionally crossing a track - with endless rocks and lips to bounce off. The visibility wasn't perfect but much better than in valley.
High freezing level left everything coated |
Lavencher provides... |
Third lap we traversed far skier's left. The snow was great but the cloud had moved in and we could hardly see a thing. Worried we'd miss the traverse we cut back early and exited. The fourth lap we cut down a relatively unskied line in the middle and bumped into Hilton, Kenny and Chris. Rasmus went off to join his parents and Kenny, Chris and I went for another few laps. The vis cleared; stunning.
More great snow, drops, jumps and untouched lines through some tight rocky sections which were seriously fun at speed. Kenny managed to bounce over a rollover only to realise it was a 4-metre drop to flat. He landed it... just... whilst giving a big girly scream. Big respect.
Great day despite the CDMB f**king up for what seems like the millionth time. If they at least warned us that there was a big chance that it wouldn't open I wouldn't have minded.
